Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if therapy is right for me?Therapy can be helpful if you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, anxious, depressed, struggling in relationships, or simply wanting to understand yourself more deeply. You don't need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Many people come to therapy because they want to improve their relationships, better understand recurring patterns, or create a more meaningful life.
What can I expect from therapy? The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. We'll talk about what brings you to therapy, your goals, relevant life experiences, and any questions you have about the process. Therapy is a collaborative process, and what we focus on will depend on your needs and goals. We may talk about current challenges, relationships, emotions, patterns that show up in your life, and experiences that have shaped how you see yourself and others. I believe meaningful change comes not only from gaining insight, but from having the opportunity to experience yourself and your relationships in new ways. You can expect therapy to be a space where we work together with curiosity, honesty, and compassion..
How often will we meet? Most clients begin therapy with weekly sessions, as meeting consistently can help us build momentum and make the most of our work together. The frequency of sessions may change over time depending on your needs, goals, and progress, and we can revisit the schedule together as your circumstances change.
If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, I ask that you provide at least 24 hours’ notice whenever possible. Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice or missed without notice may be subject to the full session fee. I understand that unexpected circumstances arise, and we can talk about these situations as they come up.
Do you accept insurance/what is your fee?I am an in-network provider with select insurance plans and can also provide documentation for out-of-network reimbursement when applicable. Please contact me for current insurance information. Individual therapy sessions are $___ per session. A limited number of reduced-fee appointments may be available. Please reach out if you have questions about fees or payment options.
How do I request health care records?Yes, we’re happy to tailor products to your taste.
